Business Ecosystems and the New Strategy Rules

Almost 30 years ago, James Moore (1993) changed the way we think about the boundaries of business when he introduced the term 'business ecosystem' as a new form of organization that differs from the corporate hierarchical structure, but also from the market system. Ecosystems are becoming more popular due to the advance of digital technologies and modular production and modular division of labor. These two changes combined dramatically accelerate the redesign of the internal operations of businesses, but also their relationships with other companies within the industry itself - but also outside the industry.
