ALBA Graduate Business School at The American College of Greece and Women's International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Hellas proudly continue, the “Women in Shipping Scholarship Series”, which started in 2006.

Recognizing the continuous increase and importance of women working in the maritime sector, WISTA Hellas, in collaboration with ALBA Graduate Business School, offers two partial scholarships in the form of financial aid (50% of the tuition fees) to two women working in the maritime sector for the ALBA MBA in Shipping Program or the MSc in Shipping Management program, for the academic year 2013-2014.

(Total cost for the ALBA MBA in Shipping Program is€19,750 while for the MSc in Shipping Management is €12,500).

The “Women in Shipping Scholarship Series” coincides with one of the main objectives of WISTA Hellas, to support women that wish to pursue a professional career in the maritime sector and promote the continuing education and networking opportunities of women involved in shipping.

Through a combination of academic rigor with practical knowledge, the ALBA MBA in Shipping program provides students with the ability to make sound and timely decisions and to cope under pressure in the rapidly changing shipping environment. More than that, the program invests heavily in leadership and strategic management competencies, which are particularly relevant both as personal advantages and as essential resources for companies in this sector.

The MSc in Shipping Management is designed to develop professionals equipped with the skills, knowledge and expertise required for a successful career in the demanding and highly competitive world of Shipping. The program provides students with a holistic and in depth knowledge of the most important issues in modern commercial shipping. Students will gain solid foundations of ship management, maritime economics, ship technology, chartering, maritime law, insurance, risk and strategic management, which are particularly relevant for companies in this sector.
