MBA | 2019 team-building

Monday, 09/09/2019

Our new MBA students from The Alba MBA and MBA in Shipping, set sail for their Alba journey during the annual team-building event, that took place on Saturday September 7th.

The MBAers met at the premises of the American College of Greece, where for one full day engaged in interactive educational activities and challenging fun game aiming to strengthen their team spirit and problem-solving approach, both cornerstone skills for their progress in the program.

The overall purpose of this event is to instill Alba's values via a unique set of activities, which allows students to bond, have fun and at the same time realize the responsibility they have towards society both as citizens and as future leaders.

This year we transformed our MBA induction event, from a simple team building to an opportunity to give back to society. New class came together to build “soap-boxes” cars that were donated to the SOS Children’s Village at Vari.

During this truly fun and creative experience, teams were asked to design, build and decorate their car. To continue their journey, the 8 car had to pass the final test, which was a “speed & accuracy race" for all crews. Time, accurate steering, safety, proper construction and "aerodynamic" decoration played an important role in the final test! Of course, the winning team celebrated in an F1 way!

Mr.  George Protopapas, General Manager of SOS Children’s Villages attended the race and wholehearted thanked students for their donation. More specifically he  mentioned "The process of building  and racing these 8 cars is the  result of  your team efforts and also of  your  humanitarian sensitivity and solidarity - an important pillar of Alba's educational process. The outcome of your endeavor, has for us an extra value because it comes from young people with vision and potentials and also from an educational institution that prioritizes the cultivation of humanism and social aid!"

On top of the activities, new students attended a welcome  presentation by Associate Dean of Academic Program, Dr. Stefanos Zarkos, who welcomed them to the Alba family, spoke about Alba's values and "Business Unusual" DNA and shared some  "survival" tips
