AHEAD Scholarships for Micro Enterprises

Monday, 12/10/2009

The ALBA Hub for Enterprise and Development (AHEAD) is proud to announce partial scholarships for the Professional MBA (part-time) program here at ALBA. The scholarships are open to entrepreneurs, and managers, from micro businesses with less than 10 employees. The AHEAD scholarships aim to support entrepreneurial talent by pairing it with the knowledge, network, and skills required to join the rising stars of Greek entrepreneurship.

AHEAD is the hub that brings together all ALBA activities dedicated to entrepreneurship. Its aim is to promote the understanding and development of enterprise within Greece, and beyond. AHEAD’s belief is that high growth entrepreneurial ventures, including social enterprises, offer tremendous potential for invigorating the economic landscape with innovation, vision, and value. The hub’s core activities involve:

  • Carrying out research into entrepreneurship, to help further understanding about this important topic.
  • Teaching and training entrepreneurs of today and tomorrow, both within our ALBA classes, and through wider programs.
  • Encouraging and promoting entrepreneurship in the wider environment, through outreach work.

Loyal to its mission to further innovative venture development by the creation, communication, and celebration of entrepreneurship knowledge, AHEAD offers scholarships that cover 1/3 of Professional MBA tuition fees.

These scholarships are available to independent micro enterprises that employ less than 10 people (full time employment equivalent). Interested businesses need to fill out the relevant application form along with the applicant. Applicants should meet the overall criteria for the Professional MBA program.

In addition to the individual applicant’s characteristics, the AHEAD Scholarships Committee will take the following issues related to the applying business into consideration whilst reviewing applicants:

  1. Potential for growth and development
  2. Vision and aims of the business
  3. Track record over recent years

The above should be demonstrated in a brief business presentation.

Note: The remaining fees for the program can be funded through LAEK.
